About

Evan McKee
Founder & Owner, Boone Improve
I’m a process improvement and business consultant based in Boone, NC. Drawing on my education in business and innovation from Appalachian State University and hands-on experience with operations, I help organizations streamline workflows, and reduce waste.
Experience
Sunbelt Rentals — Product Support Intern
At Sunbelt Rentals, I worked inside the product support organization to understand how warranty processes functioned across a large, distributed network of vendors. I audited warranty workflows across 400 vendors, identifying inefficiencies and gaps that slowed down approvals and created rework.
My role included validating warranty coverage and financial entitlement, uncovering large amounts in potential annual recovery. I built an internal application to centralize warranty data, quantified the financial impact of data validation, and designed a way to use underutilized equipment telemetry data to strengthen warranty decisions and streamline operations.
Founder, Omniscient Home LLC
As founder of Omniscient Home LLC, I created a home repair website from the ground up. I researched competitors, created a platform, marketed to deliver a consistent experience for customers.
I coordinated contractors, set expectations, and built simple systems for scheduling, communication, and quality control. That experience shaped how I approach consulting today—focusing on practical changes that owners and teams can actually implement and sustain.
Roots in Real Work
Before I focused on process improvement, I spent years doing hands-on handyman and home repair work, fixing leaks, tracking down strange noises, and solving the everyday problems that show up in real houses. Working in peoples homes, I learned how to diagnose issues quickly, use the right tools, and follow through until something was truly fixed, not just patched.
That kind of work gave me a genuine understanding of how to identify and resolve problems, to see root causes instead of just symptoms, and to communicate clearly with the people who live with the results. It taught me to listen closely, to respect the space I am working in, and to keep solutions practical so they hold up in everyday use.
Now, through my internship experience and formal business and innovation education at Appalachian State University, I am applying that same problem solving mindset to operations, workflows, and business systems. My goal is to help leaders improve efficiency and reduce friction in a way that feels grounded and workable, and I would love to talk about what we could accomplish together.
